SOCOM 4 - Teammate Finder

Challenge:

For the release of SOCOM 4, SONY’s wildly successful 1st person solo and multiplayer game, Deutsch selected KREMSA as their partner to develop the SOCOM 4 Teammate Finder Facebook application. They wanted a application that allowed you to build your own Navy SEAL squad from your Facebook friends but it needed to choose friends based on how much you interact with them, not just pull 4 random friends.

 

 

Solution:

First we developed a custom algorithm that searches for 10 points of criteria on your FB profile and your friends profiles to match 4 of your friends to the 4 team member roles. We also added a feature where you can tweak the results based on what you’re looking for in a teammate. We added posting and sharing tools that allows you to show off your team on your or your friend’s wall and prompt people to create their own teams. The wall post deeplinks to the application and allows your friends to view your team in detail without having to install the app. Only when they are ready to create a team do they have to install it.

 

Result:

The app is a big hit with 10,000+ teams created in the first week of launch. Use of the application is growing by 35% each day.
