Facebook has announced a new Premium Video Ads for News Feed, which has been tested since December. Seems like the product has matured and the premium video ads will be available for selected advertising agencies at launch.
The ads itself will autoplay without sound, its length is 15 seconds. User can either ignore it by continuing scrolling down (the video will stop) or click the video which will open in fullscrenn mode and start from the beginning with sound.
Users can expect so see video ads "in few months". Facebook wants to start slowly to see how people will react on new type of ads. The premium video ads are bought based on Targeted Gross Rating Points to reach a specific audience over a short period of time. Delivery is measured by an independent third party, Nielsen Online Campaign Ratings (OCR).
Video ads will allow brands to engage users a brand new way.
