Upgrade your Poll features

Good news for all the Poll users out there. The latest Poll update brings more features to enhance your polling. 

We have plugged in the Poll application into STAR Social, so when you integrate your Poll with STAR Social you can gain all the extra features that STAR Social makes available for their basic users.This integration process is free, we just thought that these two would work great together.

STAR Social is our social marketing suite for Facebook pages – it enables page admins to create and moderate Facebook Pages with features like custom tab creation in Page Manager (using plug-ins and a WYSIWYG editor) or moderate and schedule posts in Page Manager. Poll Freebie: Add Facebook comments under your Poll

Good news for all Poll users out there – now you can add a premium feature to your Poll for free. 

Poll is a great tool for gathering fan feedback on Facebook. It is a bit more flexible than Facebook's own Question, because it offers a lot more functionality. Users and agencies, who admin brand Facebook pages, often use the Facebook comments feature to enable voters to comment on the Poll options. 

Facebook commentsis a premium feature  of Poll and it is usually available for purchase, when setting up you Poll. You can also get this feature for free, when you integrate your Poll with STAR Social – our app for creating custom Facebook tabs. 

To set it up, you have to integrate Poll with STAR Social. Here are the instructions..

:No advertising displayed on your Poll tab
:Hide results after voting
:Show comments on the Poll  tab
:Remain on Poll tab, one vote per user (Note: Does not redirect user to application when voting from tab. Does not work when voting from Wall)
:Remain on Poll tab and allow multiple votes per user
:Hide the Poll header links on top of Poll

Each feature can be purchased separately ($9) or you can unlock Premium Features for a selected Page (and all it's Polls) for $99/year.

Add more content to your Poll tab

Good news for all the Poll app users out there – we have integrated the Poll app with our social marketing platform STAR Social to give you access to tools that can help you customize your Poll tab and make it more engaging and effective. You are now able to add more content to your Poll tab, such as images, videos, slideshows or text by using one, or more, of the content plug-ins. We think they are really useful for getting the most out of your Poll, especially when you need to make it easy for your fans to answer the poll questions. 

Now you can get the popular vote on which film would your fans like to see in your cinema by embedding two trailers on the Poll tab or uploading a document right on the tab and get everyone's votes on that. The possiblities are just as endless as your imagination. 

Great thing is, that this comes at no additional cost. All you have to do is to integrate your Poll app with STAR Social in these few simple steps and you can add and manage your plug-ins right away.

Poll: Manage Pages permission

Dear Poll users. Those who are admins of some Facebook Pages noticed that Poll is now requesting an additional permission to allow you to create a new poll for your Page or to promote poll by posting it to one of your Pages. This is because Facebook recently stopped supporting a FBML tag which provided some basic information about user, including what pages he or she is admin of.

Since one day Facebook didn’t provided this information we couldn’t determine which Pages are yours and application was not working for a couple of hours, until we implemented new permission – Manage my pages. Please accept it so Poll can figure out whether you admin any pages and post poll you create under the name of the Page.

To provide us this permission now, please create a new poll now. You will be asked for permission automatically when creating a poll, in case you haven’t already provided it.

We are happy to tell you that we are cooking something cool for you. Soon we will launch an iframe version of the Poll with minor updates in features, and then we will start working on huge update, new user interface and functionality. Stay tuned.

Facebook Poll application reached 2 million monthly active users

Since we started rolling up the updates for Facebook Poll, we can see significant growth of monthly active users (MAUs), which just reached 2 million milestone. This keep Poll one of the most popular and useful utility on Facebook.  Poll application is now receiving on average 10,000 new likes in a week… we love that you like the app. Also more and more brands are starting using Poll application. Instead of spending thousands of dollars for marketing research they now use Poll and take the advantage of valuable user feedback which takes just minutes or hours to be delivered.  And since this week, localization of tab was introduced, local brands are now renaming the Poll tab to their own language. A big recognition is that Facebook itself started using the app on their pages, including Celebs on Facebook, Facebook Live and The Official Facebook Page, which means lot of responsibility but also trust in the application.

We are preparing more updates for you in the first half of the year which should allow brands (page admins) to attract and keep more users on their pages with Poll, not only tabs but also on Wall. Let us know about what features you like on Poll and which would you like to see to be implemented. We love to hear your feedback.

You can now rename application tab to your language

Great news everyone! You can now rename application tab to your language, e.g. Poll tab. We had lots of request coming from our Poll application users, especially from Germany, asking for the tab name to be renamed into their language. We as well as other Preferred Developer Consultants forwarded these requests to Facebook and finally, they allowed the renaming of Tabs of Applications. This will allow brands and page admins to create more localized page, especially for non-English speakers. Poll app can be now renamed to Umfrage (German), Ankieta (Polish) or Encuesta (Spanish).

Facebook Poll: Hiding results and re-publishing poll as Page admin now available

Poll application was updated once again. We were listening to your ideas on Poll app Page as well as via e-mails and we managed to implement some features you have been requesting. The new update includes:

Poll was updated with a new Viral Dashboard

The most popular application of its type on Facebook – Poll app – with more than 1.7 million monthly active users (MAUs) just received a major update to simplify promoting of a poll. The update is focused mainly on poll creators. Poll creators are regular Facebook users as well as admins of Facebook Pages, who want to get feedback about their brand, product or service.
